Education
Graduate of journalism, mass communication, development communication, Philippine studies, development studies, political science, social work, or other social sciences
Languages
Mastery in English is required, and in Filipino is desirable.
Qualifications:
- Superior writing and editing skills
- High competence in research and documentation
- Preferably, with experience in related projects (e.g., press freedom, human rights)
- Legal or para-legal education/training will be an asset
Responsibilities
The Program/Research Officer will be assigned to the Safeguarding Journalists and Human Rights Defenders in the Philippines Project, for a period of 16 months, with the following responsibilities:
- Takes the lead in research and mapping tasks
- Conducts monitoring of project activities
- Prepares project reports and other documentation requirements
- Prepares/edits press releases and other visibility materials for print, broadcast and social media
- Works with Project Manager in coordinating with partners and other project stakeholders
- Performs related tasks as may be required in the project
